A = Discus anisotropicus (anisotrope Zone = A-Bande [Länge entspricht der Länge der Myosinfilamente]);
Af = Filamentum actinum (Aktinfilament); C = Cytoplasma (Zellflüssigkeit);
Fa = Fascia adhaerens (Streifendesmosom, intermediate junction; hier sind die Aktinfilamente an feinen Intermediärfilamenten verankert);
Grg = Granula glycogeni (Glykogengranula); H = Zonula luicda (Hensenscher [heller] Streifen);
I = Discus isotropicus (isotrope Zone; wird bei Kontraktion kürzer);
If = Filamenta intermedia (Intermediärfilamente, dienen der Verankerung von Aktinfilamenten);
LT = L-Tubulus = sarkoplasmatisches Retikulum = glattes endoplasmatisches Retikulum (Speicher von Kalziumionen);
M = Mesophragma (M-Streifen; Verbindungen von Myosinfilamenten); Ma = Macula adhaerens (Punktdesmosom);
Mc = Macula communicans = Nexus = Gap junction (zur elektromechanischen Koppelung der Zellen);
Mf = Filamentum myosinium (Myosinfilament); Mi = Mitochondrien (Crista-Typ);
Myf = Myofibrille; Spi = Spatium intercellulare (interzellulärer Spalt); tT = T-Tubulus (Einstülpung des Extrazellularraums);
ZTelophragma (Z-Streifen; Verbindung der Aktinfilamente miteinander);
* = Sarkomer (Abstand zweier Z-Streifen; funktionelle Grundeinheit der Muskulatur).
